Who we are
Champ is a free-to-play social sports prediction game, available as the Champ app on iPhone (io.playchamp.ios) and Android (io.playchamp) and on this website, playchamp.io.
The service is operated by Champ (“Champ”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
Questions about privacy? Email us at playchamp.dev@gmail.com.
The short version
- You sign in with Google, Facebook, Apple or email. We store your email, username, display name, avatar, country and language, plus what you do in the game.
- Your phone number is optional. Contacts are only read if you tap Import from Contacts, and only to find friends.
- Champ uses virtual coins only. We never ask for or receive your card details - purchases go through Apple or Google.
- Other players can see your username, display name, avatar, coins, streak and how you did in competitions you share with them.
- We use trusted providers (Google Firebase, Amazon Web Services, AppsFlyer, Meta and others) to run the app. We don’t sell your personal information and there are no third-party ads in Champ.
- You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Information we collect
Information you give us
| What | Details |
|---|---|
| Account | Your email address and the ID of the sign-in method you chose (Google, Facebook, Apple or email and password). Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication - we never see them on our servers. |
| Profile | Username, display name, the avatar and colour you pick, your country (suggested from your device region, which you can change), language and theme. |
| Phone number (optional) | If you add it during sign-up, we verify it with a one-time SMS code sent by Google Firebase and store it on your account so friends can find you. You can skip this step. |
| Sports preferences | The sports and leagues you follow. |
| Messages | Messages you post in competition chats, together with your display name and avatar. |
| Support requests | Whatever you send us when you contact support or ask to delete your account. |
Contacts - only if you choose to import them
When you tap Import from Contacts and allow access, the app reads the phone numbers in your address book and sends them to our servers to look for players with matching numbers. Players we find are added as friends, on both sides. The uploaded numbers are used for that match only - we do not store your address book. Only phone numbers leave your phone - contact names, emails and other details are never sent to us.
You can turn off contacts access at any time in your phone’s settings.
Information created while you play
- Your bets and predictions, the competitions and tournaments you join, results, trophies, XP and level.
- Your coin and diamond balance and the history of how coins were earned and spent.
- Daily streak claims, Streak Freezes and the timezone of your device (so your day starts at your local midnight).
- Daily tasks, referrals (who invited whom) and invites you send or receive.
- Your friends list and the players you block.
- Your notification settings.
Purchases
Coins, diamonds and boosters are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We receive the product, transaction ID and purchase receipt so we can verify the purchase with Apple or Google and credit your account. We never receive your payment card or bank details.
Device and technical information
- Push notification token, device model, platform and app version, so we can send you notifications.
- Server logs containing your IP address, device user agent and the requests your app makes. These are kept for 7 days.
- Crash and error reports (via Sentry) to find and fix bugs. These are configured not to include personal details such as your name or email.
Analytics and attribution
- Google Firebase Analytics records how the app is used (for example, when you claim a streak or skip a step). Events can include your account email so we can link them to your account.
- AppsFlyer tells us how you found Champ (for example, from an invite link) and makes invite and referral links open the right screen in the app.
- Meta (Facebook) SDK powers Facebook sign-in and may record basic app events such as app installs and launches.
- On iPhone, the app asks for your permission under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency before attribution data used for tracking is collected.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your precise location, photos, date of birth, payment card details or any government ID.

Children
Champ is not meant for children. You must be at least 18 to play. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under that age; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your information. No service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in details to yourself.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Champ changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and if the changes are significant we’ll tell you in the app before they take effect.
